Current Media Requests

The following media requests have all been made to us by journalists currently working on workplace bullying related stories. This page is regularly updated. We encourage anybody who is interested in sharing their experiences to contact the journalists below if their case is relevant. It all helps towards raising the general awareness of the issue in the UK and around the world.

TV documentary: bullying in the work place

We are making a film for Channel 5 revealing and highlighting the modern epidemic that is work place bullying. We will be looking at how it happens, why it happens and what can be done to stop it. Like the Andrea Adams Trust, we believe that targets of bullying are usually high achievers who are seen as a potential threat: they are not a stereotypical 'victim' and have no reason to be ashamed. We also believe that recognition and discussion of this issue is crucial for workplace culture to change.

We would first of all like to talk to all people who are being (or have been) bullied to find out what issues we need to cover. In the long run however, we hope to find people willing to make a 'video diary' of their ongoing experiences. We want to talk to people from any industry and in any situation.

BBC TV psychology programme on PERSUASION

I'm researching a new BBC TV science series on human behaviour. One of the programmes looks at Persuasion.

I'm looking to talk to anyone who is/has been constantly bullied (at work or at home) as a means to persuade them to do something against their will. What techniques were used? How did it make you feel? Has it had any lasting impacts on your life? Please call Abigail Adams on 020 8752 6329 for an informal chat or email me on abigail.adams@bbc.co.uk. All calls in confidence.

Good Housekeeping Feature
I am currently looking for a case study/studies for a feature I am working for called Triumph Over Tragedy. This is an upbeat slot within the magazine which focus' on someone path to overcoming some sort of tragedy.

We have never covered the issue of bullying in the workplace and I think now would be a great time to do something. As such we would be looking for a case study- female, preferably over 30 who has a strong story to tell about being bullied in the workplace. The main thing about the story is that they are now on their feet with renewed confidence.

TEACHERS NEEDED - Libra Television
At the moment, Libra Television is making a series of programmes for Teachers' TV and one of these programmes will look at the issue of bullying in the workplace. Research shows that bullying by both colleagues and pupils in the teaching profession is rife, and I feel it's a very important issue to tackle. The programme we make will offer guidance and support to anybody experiencing bullying, both by other staff members and by pupils. We need a teacher to step forward and tell us their experience. Someone who knows how it feels and can reach out to others in this situation. Someone who knows how destructive and soul destroying it can be. We would need to do an interview with you (we can provide anonymity if you like. Nobody has to know who you are or where the bullying took place) and we would do reconstruction based around your story. Please give me a call if you can help, so we can make this programme.
